OCTELA members make their greatest contributions in the classroom. It is there that educators teach students the joys and inspiration from, and challenges inherent in, English Language Arts. Contributions of OCTELA educators are far-reaching and prepare students for a lifetime by creating the foundation necessary for achievement in all other fields.

OCTELA's two conferences, held in the spring and fall of each year, present attendees with concepts and techniques that will enhance their ability to teach effectively. Additionally, OJELA (Ohio Journal of English Language Arts) sponsored by OCTELA, has articles that continue this classroom support.
