OCTELA is committed to providing high quality professional development. Members of OCTELA possess expertise in many areas within the field of education and can be contacted to provide scheduled professional development sessions for local and state-wide groups. One goal of all OCTELA sponsored professional development is to provide sessions which not only increase teachers’ knowledge, but lead to noticeable changes in classroom instruction and increased student academic achievement. Research demonstrates that on-going professional development is critical for educators to meet the challenges of the growing and diverse number of students in today’s schools. OCTELA promotes research-based sessions created to assist teachers collaboratively learn and continue to meet school and district goals.
