OJELA Call for Manuscripts: Inquiry by Design

The submission period for the Ohio Journal of English Language Arts is now open! Our next issue focuses on Inquiry by Design. Submissions are due April 15, 2019!

About This Issue’s Theme:

“As it is, the lover of inquiry must follow his beloved wherever it may lead him.” – Plato

It’s a pedagogical approach supported by the work of such important learning theorists as Dewey, Piaget, Vygotsky and Freire, but how can we encourage inquiry in our students? How can teachers spark their students’ curiosity? What does true inquiry look like in an English Language Arts classroom?

In this issue of Ohio Journal of English Language Arts, we explore the use of inquiry and curiosity in literacy instruction of our students. In a discipline rooted in dialogue, how do we engage our students in the dialogue of wonder and excitement in the English Language Arts classroom?
